Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father....our Father, Creator

In Jesus, the Messiah....our Savior and Lord
and in
Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.

We believe that God made the heavens, the earth, and all creatures therein.

And that He forgives us of our sins.

God has given all creatures His son, Jesus, who died on a cross and arose from the dead.

We believe Jesus went to heaven and is now seated at God’s right hand.

Jesus' death and resurrection has given us the opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life.

God has given us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

*

Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man who was crucified, was raised from the dead by God!

Jesus has now become the cornerstone.

"There is salvation in no one else!  There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."

Acts 4: 10 - 12

Holy Bible New Living Translation

" For no one can build any foundation than this one we already have - Jesus Christ."

1 Corinthians 3: 11

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created the heavens and the earth.  He lovingly forgives our sins.  God gave us His Son, Jesus, who died on a cross, and arose from the dead.  Jesus now sits at the right hand of God.  He is the Messiah, our Savior.  He can be our Lord, if we believe in him and accept him.  He gave us the opportunity to receive eternal life.  When Jesus went to heaven, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach, and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1 & 2
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26, 16:5-15

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) into your life to receive all they have to give you, and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Jesus, please come into my life, heal me, and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you, to love you as you love me, so I can love others, and, so I can love myself.  Holy Spirit, please fill me to overflowing with all the fruits and the gifts you have to give me to help me grow in Christ Jesus and be able to share the Trinity with others.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus' name I pray, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, or one from your heart, please email us at [EMAIL ADDRESS is no LONGER AVAILABLE, but I will still pray for you], so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow, and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  We hope to have a special page for this purpose.  We now have a page where you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together praying as a body of believers, for Jesus said, ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who God calls ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’ But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us this “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

   Voting With Wisdom....Believing

Galatians 5

Galatians

So Christ has really set us free.  Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.

Listen!  I, Paul, tell you this:  If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ cannot help you.  I'll say it again.  If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey all of the regulation in the whole law of Moses.  For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ!  You have fallen away from God's grace.

But we who live by the Sprit eagerly wait to receive everything promised to us who are right with God through faith.  For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, it makes no difference to God whether we are circumcised or not circumcised.  What is important is faith expressing itself in love.

You were getting along so well.  Who has interfered with you to hold you back from following the truth?  It certainly isn't God, for he is the one who called you to freedom.  But it takes only one wrong person among you to infect all the others - a little yeast spreads quickly through the whole batch of dough!  I am trusting the Lord to bring you back to believing as I do about these things.  God will judge that person whoever it is, who has been troubling and confusing you.

Dear brothers and sisters, if I were still preaching that you must be circumcised - as some say I do - why would the Jews persecute me?  The fact that I am still being persecuted proves that I am still preaching salvation through the cross of Christ alone.  I only wish that those troublemakers who want to mutilate you by circumcision would mutilate themselves.

For you have been called to live in freedom - not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love.  For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself."  But if instead of showing love among yourselves you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out!  Beware of destroying one another.

So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit.  Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves.  The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants.  And the Spirit give us desires that are opposite from what the sinful nature desires.  Those two forces are constantly fighting each other, and your choices are never free from this conflict.  But when you are directed by the Holy Spirit, you are no longer subject to the law.

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results:  sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kins of sin.  Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us:  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Here there is no conflict with the law.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.  If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives.  Let us not become conceited or irritate one another or be jealous of one another.

Thoughts....

During this time of Presidential elections in the USA, let us be reminded of Galatians 5, while considering our integrity under the umbrella of the Trinity: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.

Be aware that voting for someone that believes in abortion being available, should not be about placing our values on others, but in providing others' federal/state inalienable rights to make decisions with one's doctor regarding what is best for their life and that of their unborn child.

As Christians, we all want everyone to be saved in Christ Jesus and subscribe to what we believe, believing it is best for everyone. But we don't rule the world in which there are many faiths, many religions, many of whom live in America, and some who do not subscribe to either. Many faiths and religions may have the same Savior and God as we do under a different languages name. Or believe as deeply as we do under their different choice of faith and religion.  Or not.  We would not want others telling us what we can or cannot do about anything.  How dare we?

But even we Christians make mistakes....sin.  Would you want someone to have your right to pray be taken away? Your ability to make choices for your children or parents?  Your right to work to support yourself and care for your family or neighbor?

Let us be fairly minded that what we are really voting for right now is freedom and equality for all under the law.

When we are taught to love our neighbor as our self, we are taught that what we need, desire, want might be what our neighbor also may need, desire, want, and that we should share what we have with them, support them on their journey, while sharing who our Lord is within us, as we gift the enormity of his love with others.

Jesus went out of his way to walk with those not like him in race, nationality, creed. He helped those not like him in race, nationality, creed. He fed the tormented, disabled, unloved, lost, hurting, hungry, seeking....food, clothing, shelter, his love, the mercy of the outpouring of his spirit, the healing power of his touch. This day and every day is how we are to live in and with Christ for and with others.

As you consider who you will vote for, whether in the USA for the President or anyone else down ballot, or in your states, or anywhere else in the world where there might be elections anytime, you need to look at which candidate best emulates the positive, reinforcing, embracing values listed in Galatians 5. Which person speaks on being one in commonality with all neighbors. Which one reaches out to bring others together to ensure everyone has rights, and that they are firmly established. Who wants to ensure we are all safe, not only in our country, but in the world. Which one can help us be more secure physically and financially, mentally and emotionally and bring joy to the table. Who, while listening to all, will best understand your needs, as people of America or elsewhere, and how they can utilize what you share to meet the needs of the masses.

If you are serving God, you cannot vote for division and hatred. You must vote for unity and truth.

I strongly encourage you to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States of America.

Let Us Pray

Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, forgive us for our sins, please. As we make decisions for not just those we love, but those we have not met, or learned to love yet, guide us, lead us, direct us as to who to vote for who best aligns with your values and your integrity to ensure we in America, and all in the world will be safe and secure. May we be able to continue to grow with you in us, and always allow others of different faiths/religions to grow with their God, so we will succeed as a nation to truly become one. May we have not only our needs met in our families, but may all families everywhere find healing, peace, love and joy, with full tummies, clothing, shelter with climate control, while being financially sound to help ourselves, as we help others.

Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
Lord God, Lamb of God, grant us your mercy and your peace.

Heal us and make us whole. Give us your wisdom, not as the world gives, but as you give, that we might make the best decisions grounded and founded in your values, from your heart. You told us in John 15 to remain in your love. If we are honoring you, remaining in your love, there is only one clear choice of whom to vote for as the next President of the United States of America...to keep us all safe, to meet your needs for us, and that of other faiths/religions Savior's needs for their followers, and those who don't believe in the world. That choice is Kamala Harris. Help us, Lord. We praise you and thank you giving you all glory and honor. In Jesus' name I pray, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit to dear Heavenly Father God. Amen.

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, animals, the earth, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you !

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:  25-30
